Dealing with Conflict

Many members of families and friends have arguments sometimes. Sometimes these are verbal (talking or shouting). This video gives advice on what to do when you sometimes have verbal arguments with members of your family or friends. You can see what Shilpa and Danny say about how to deal with disagreements, then follow the instructions in the worksheet. Remember that if you are often in or see verbal arguments or arguments that become physical (hitting or punching), it is important to speak to someone you trust about it like a teacher.

  • What things might family members or friends have arguments about?
  • One piece of advice in the video is to create an action plan about the topic causing a problem with the other person after an argument. Do you think this is good advice? What would you suggest?

Roleplay

An argument between two siblings about something e.g. and ask the rest of the group to give advice on how this should be resolved. For example, this could be an argument because they share a room and one plays loud music when the other one wants to work or watch TV.
